The Martin Special

Completed June 2026.

Our client loved the form factor of the OEM2 but wanted something a little more special. We worked with him to build this custom iteration out of solid American Oak, featuring exposed finger-jointed edges.

We stained the cabinets in a deep Japan black, carefully managing the finish to retain the timber's open grain so its natural texture remains a prominent, tactile feature.

To offset the dark wood, we applied a custom light gold anodized finish to the machined aluminum face and back plates. The sharp contrast between the heavy, organic grain and the precision metalwork came together perfectly.

Both we and Martin are incredibly happy with how this build turned out.
